Meeting Information

The Oak Run Photography Club (ORPC) meets monthly at 7:00PM from September of one year through June of the following year, with the exception of December, July and August. Dates and venues for each meeting are publicized well in advance.  December is reserved for personal holiday travel, as well as the Club's annual Christmas Party.  July and August are reserved for personal summer travel and to allow time for newly elected officers (elected in June) to organize and plan the subsequent year's programs and events.  Additional information on Club elections and the annual Christmas Party can be viewed below, under "Other Activities."

Programs

Monthly programs, including photo reviews/evaluations and guest speakers, are organized by the Program Committee and are presented at the Club’s regular meetings.  For more information on the Programs, see the “Upcoming Programs & Events” section.

Field Trips

Field trips are planned by the Club’s Field Trip Committee and are offered throughout the year, although the number of field trips may vary from year to year. Carpooling is available.  For more information on Field Trips, see the “Upcoming Programs & Events” section.

Dues

Annual dues, currently $10.00 per year, are payable by check at the first meeting of the year (September) or at the first meeting you attend. Dues are $8.00 if you join after January. Oak Runners interested in “sampling” Club activities may attend one or two meetings (at no cost) prior to signing up.  

Other Activities

The election of Club officers – President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Members-At-Large (2) – is held in June, during the Club’s last yearly meeting.

The Club's four ad hoc committees – Program, Field Trip, Publicity and ORHA Photo Support – are selected by the Club’s President and Vice President.

The 2008 Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 6th at 1:30PM at the "5th Avenue Cafe" in Mount Dora. The cafe is located at 116 East 5th Avenue. Tickets will be $18.00 per person, and will be sold by the Club Secretary at the September, October and November meetings. The later-than-usual starting time will allow for holiday shopping at the various stores and boutiques in Mount Dora, and will also provide an opportunity for members to view the holiday lights which are turned on around 5:30PM. Members are eligible for door prizes at each meeting if they wear their name tag.
